Report: Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas Skips Labadee, Haiti Port Call

vision of the seasRoyal Caribbean International's Vision of the Seas skipped its port call at Labadee, Haiti, scheduled for Sunday, January 24, due to concerns over protests by locals in the area, the Royal Caribbean Blog reports. The ship continued to San Juan earlier than expected. 

The move makes Vision of the Seas the third ship to skip a call at the port due to the protests. Navigator of the Seas skipped a Labadee port call scheduled for Thursday, January 21, and Freedom of the Seas cancelled a call scheduled for Tuesday, January 19. 

In a statement released at the time Navigator of the Seas cancelled its port call, Royal Caribbean said that it will continue to closely monitor the situation and that the line is in close communication with local and government officials in Haiti. The line said it has not made any decisions regarding upcoming calls in Labadee.
