Hovhannes Sahakyan says Postanjyan submitted diploma of non-state higher education institution (video)
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs is considering Zaruhi Postnajyan’s nomination as Armenia’s human rights defender. Hovhannes Sahakyan, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, wanted to hear Postanjyan’s opinion about her main contender, Arman Tatoyan. “He is a normal person and was even present at the hearings I organized. But none of you showed up at the event. He [Tatoyan] is a decent person, unlike Mr Liska (governor of Armenia's Syunik province Suren Khachatryan),” she said. “Thank you for your warm attitude. We shall consider your statements and meet the provisions of the Constitution.” In the end, Sahakyan said Postanjyan did not submit a state diploma and advised her to submit other documents, saying otherwise they will have to reject her bid. “Will you have the courage [to do it]?” Postanjyan said. “Be a bit more civil because you are a candidate,” Shakyan said in reply.
