Bisalloy Steels makes steel plates that are used in anything from building towers to storage bins.
To mark the milestone of 1000 days of no time lost through injury, the entire staff of 68 will turn up for work dressed in pink.
Even those wearing hi vis.
Operations manager Michael Bradmore said it was a way to stop workers getting complacent about workplace safety.
“We thought this was a highly visual way of reminding people,” Mr Bradmore said.
“Why are you wearing a pink shirt? Oh that’s right, I’m wearing it to remind myself about safety.”
Thursday is the first of the monthly pink days – those who fail to wear the colour donate $5 to charity.
According to Mr Bradmore, they might not be stopping at pink hi-vis shirts.
“We were thinking, when this one runs its course, if we want to refresh the idea we might do a Hawaiian hi vis next time,” he said.
