NEW YORK -- The Mets are hoping for a Memorial Day sign that all will be right in their world again when Matt Harvey will try, try again to turn around his season.
Off to a terrible start to 2016, Harvey will start the Mets' 1:10 p.m. series opener against the Chicago White Sox at Citi Field.
Harvey tweaked his pitching mechanics pitching a simulated game following his last outing, a loss to Washington that left him with a 3-7 record and 6.08 ERA in 10 starts this season. Over his last three starts, the righty is 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA in his last three starts, allowing 19 runs, 16 earned, and 27 hits over 13.1 innings.
While Harvey will be on the mound, the Mets will be without third baseman David Wright for the third game in a row due to a neck issue.
Left-hander Jose Quintana (5-4, 2.22) will start for the White Sox, who were swept three games in Kansas City over the weekend and have dropped six in a row overall.
The Mets are coming off a 4-2 home loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday night in the rubber game of a weekend series.
Here's the Mets' lineup for Monday:
1. Juan Lagares, CF
2. Asdrubal Cabrera, SS
3. Yoenis Cespedes, LF
4. Neil Walker, 2B
5. Wilmer Flores, 1B
