DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio (WAVY) – The Norfolk Police Department says Wesley Hadsell has been indicted in Ohio on two counts of rape, one count of kidnapping and one count of felonious assault.

The indictments stem from an incident that happened in Ohio in 2005.

Hadsell’s adoptive daughter, Anjelica Hadsell, disappeared in March 2015. Her remains were found a month later behind an abandoned home in Southampton County. The medical examiner said AJ died of acute heroin poisoning.

Wesley Hadsell, 37, was arrested during the investigation into AJ’s disappearance, but was never made a suspect.

Since his arrest, he has maintained his innocence in regards to his adopted daughter’s death, despite some people questioning his involvement.

Hadsell could be facing up to life in prison for an unrelated federal weapons charge, which he pleaded guilty to last November.
