EXPOSED: Daily Star Online found some benefit spongers clash our cash on gambling and luxuries

The UK Government forks out a staggering £258billion every year on benefits. This huge sum includes a whopping £41billion on incapacity, disability and injury benefits and £3billion on unemployment handouts.

This cash, it insists, is given to those in proven need in the country and spent wisely.

But Daily Star Online has found some shameless spongers throw disposable handout money away on gambling, shopping for luxuries, boob jobs and “offensive” use of social media.

Travis Simpkins, an unemployed teen layabout from Sheffield, claims a hefty £14,000 in benefits.

The self-confessed Donald Trump fanatic admits he “wastes spare money” on online gambling and bingo. Sensationally, he has lost more than £10,000 since January alone.

When confronted by Daily Star Online, the fame-hungry 19-year-old said: “My benefits have just gone up to £14,000. I have just been given an extra £60 on top of my £73 a week. I don’t know what it is for.

“All the spare money I have, I put on machines but it can go wrong. I spend at least six hours on these sites a day.

“People have a go at me for wasting money on gambling. I have lost over £10,000 since January.

“It is mad. I have won £500 or £600 back at one time but I’ll be stupid and put it back in. I don’t gamble for the money.

“But even if I won say £1million, the first thing I would do is spend more on slots.

“It became a problem with me since I split up with my girlfriend in January.”

Travis, who wanted to be Prime Minister after David Cameron quit, also puts time and money suggesting “offensive ideas” to our government in the form of persistent online petitions. Daily Star Online found his latest one was a bid for all crime to be legal for 12 hours every year to "save the Government money".

But it was rejected by baffled UK Government officials for being “offensive, nonsense and a joke”.

And a mum-of-eight, who claims £26,000 in benefits, was spotted eyeing up flash luxury cars recently.

Marie Buchan, 34, who has been dubbed “Octomum”, appeared keen on treating herself to the Land Rover — worth a whopping £70,000 when new — from a plush car showroom.

The part-time mechanic, who was jobless for seven years until recently, also is planning a £4,500 boob job.

And she expressed her delight at Britain leaving the EU in June — because she felt it stopped migrants coming into the UK and “taking all our money”.

Serial convict Daniel Shaw rakes in £17,000 in handouts. The unemployed 25-year-old, of Manchester, blasted the Government last year for giving him too much cash.

Like Mr Simpkins, he conceded he regularly gambles his excessive benefits away.

Dean Bell, a dad-of-seven from Scunthorpe, Lincs. who was jobless for three years, blew £2,500 of his employment benefits on a 47inch high-end TV.

His antics were captured on a shocking Channel 4 documentary in 2013.

The alarming spending habits have been slammed by critics.

Jonathan Isaby, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said: "The welfare system exists to support the most vulnerable in the society. A pound wasted on luxury cars is not only an unjustifiable burden on taxpayers, but also a pound away from those who truly need support."

SCROUNGER: Critics were outraged after jobless Dean Bell spent £2,500 on a new high-end TV

The staggering revelations come after a mum-of-12 recently said on national television she wanted another child to nab more benefits cash for a boob job.

Cheryl Prudmore was forced to move from Gravesend, Kent, to Skelmersdale, Lancs., after outraged neighbours were disgusted with her admission.
