Pam Hall honored at BIA event

PORTSMOUTH – Normandeau Associates CEO and board chairwoman Pam Hall received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Business and Industry Association.

Also receiving awards at the BIA’s 103rd annual dinner Oct. 19 was former president of White Mountains Attractions Association Dick Hamilton, and Rath Young Pignatelli shareholder and chairman Tom Rath.

Normandeau Associates, which is headquartered in Bedford and has offices in Hampton and Portsmouth, is a nationally recognized, science-based environmental consulting firm. Hall, a resident of Portsmouth, began her career in 1971 as a marine scientist for Normandeau Associates. Seventeen years later, when the firm was sold to Thermo Electron, she became president, making her one of the few female executives in the environmental consulting industry.

When Thermo divested in 1999, Hall led the effort to acquire Normandeau and make it an employee-owned company. She has given her time to many nonprofits, including the Environmental Business Council of New England, the Seacoast Science Center, Volunteer New Hampshire, the Land and Community Heritage Commission, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and BIA.
