Bhojpur crusher industries asked to pay tax

Bhojpur, January 22

Local Administration, Bhojpur, has directed crusher industries operating on the banks of Arun River along the Hile-Bhojpur Naradmani Thulung Auxiliary Highway of Leguwa to pay tax.

A team led by Chief District Officer of Bhojpur Arjun Kumar Sharma had carried out an inspection on Thursday and found that many crusher industries were operating without meeting various legal procedures.

Chief District Officer Sharma had directed industry operators and contractor companies to meet all legal procedures soon.

He informed that Tenzin Raman Kankai, contractor of Leguwa-Bhojpur road project; and Jaya Shree Ram Concrete Industry Private Limited at Sundarpur, Morang were operating without permission from the concerned authority and without paying tax for the past one year.

“Representatives of the companies have been directed to pay government tax,” he said.

The 66-kilometre road section from Leguwa to Bhojpur, the border of Dhankuta and Bhojpur districts, is being constructed with financial assistance of Rs 990 million from the Asian Development Bank.

Earlier, District Development Committee Bhojpur had investigated the matter after locals filed complaints against illegally operated crusher industries a year ago.
