India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was involved in a car accident on Saturday while travelling with his wife, Reeva Solanki. Jadeja was driving along with his wife in his swanky Audi SUV in Jamnagar when it hit a two-wheeler from behind.

The driver of the two-wheeler has been identified as Preeti Sharma, who is a student at Jamnagar's Vidyasagar Institute, according to reports. Fortunately nobody was seriously hurt in the incident with Sharma receiving minor injuries. Jadeja took Sharma to a nearby hospital where she got the necessary treatment and was discharged soon after.

Jadeja is on a well-deserved break from international cricket at the moment after being rested for the ongoing three-match T20I series against England. Jadeja's spin partner Ravichandran Ashwin has also been rested.

The spin twins have been the key reason behind India's success in Test cricket this season. While Ashwin took 28 wickets in five Tests against England at an average of 30.25, Jadeja picked up 26 wickets in as many games at 25.84. Jadeja though, was more effective than Ashwin in the ODI series where he picked up four wickets from three matches while Ashwin got three.

India and England are all set to play the second T20 international in Nagpur on Sunday. The visitors lead the three-match series 1-0 after their seven-wicket win in the first match at Kanpur.
