In a shocking incident, a person brutally attacked his wife with a knife and murdered her at their residence in Kovur village of Kandukur mandal in the wee hours of Sunday.

ONGOLE: In a shocking incident, a person brutally attacked his wife with a knife and murdered her at their residence in Kovur village of Kandukur mandal in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to Kandukur Inspector K Narasimha Rao, the accused K Subba Rao had been suspecting his wife’s fidelity for some time and they both used to engage in heated arguments over the issue several times.

On Saturday night, too, the couple entered into a verbal duel for a couple of hours and in a fit of rage Subba Rao attacked his wife Susheela indiscriminately with a knife. The victim sustained injuries on her neck and head. The accused fled the spot after leaving her in a pool of blood.

Though, the 11-year-old daughter of the couple tried to prevent her father from attacking her mother, the accused, attacked the girl with the knife on her wrist.

The injured girl was admitted to a hospital at Kandukur. Kandukur Rural police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused. The body of the woman was sent to Kandukur government hospital for autopsy.
