Fourth death in Tumakuru school food poisoning case

Death toll rises to four in the food poisoning case at the Vidya Varidhi International school in Huliyar, Chikkanayakanahalli taluk, Tumakuru, on Sunday. The school security guard, Ramesh(45), who was in the Intensive Care Unit of Tumakuru district government hospital since March 9 died around 10.45 a.m. on Sunday.

District surgeon of Tumakuru district government hospital Dr. Veerabhadraiah told The Hindu: “The security guard died of cardiac arrest.” He was on ventilator support.

On March 9, three students Y. Shreyas of class 8, Akanksh Pallakki and Shantha Murthy, both class 10 students, had died due to food poisoning.
