BIJNOR: Health officials found around 40 sacks of expired medicines dumped in a farm in the district Noorpur area. Some of these medicines include those which were being sold at government hospitals in states like UP, Madhya Pradesh, said authorities. A case has been registered against unknown people.
The medicines were found four days after police busted a gang that sold expired medicines after changing wrappers and necessary details.

“A farmer discovered it on Monday evening in Mahmoodpur village. We rushed to the spot, along with police personnel, and found 40 sacks full of expired medicines. The medicines are worth Rs 20 lakh,” said drug inspector Ashutosh Mishra.
Mishra added, “ Some of the medicines are outdated and some had new wrappers showing the current date. It seems that some of the medicine’s wrappers were changed with present dates to sell in the market. The medicines found are those which are sold in state and centre run hospitals. We are probing the matter thoroughly.”
Superintendent of the police, Ajay Sahani said, “ Our team is also trying to nab people who are involved in this medicine racket.”
