When Victoria Beckham first announced that she was designing a collection of dresses back in September 2008 my only criticism was the price tag.
Fast forward nine years and Victoria’s the head of a global fashion empire, and I still struggle with paying over a thousand pounds for a dress. But it looks like our prayers may finally have been answered.
Victoria has collaborated with American clothing retailer Target on an affordable 200 piece collection of women and children's items.
The question is, does it deliver? Well, you really can’t argue with the prices. It’s cheap, ranging from £6-£60. A sleeveless tank will set you back £22.50, compared to £295 from a similar style currently on sale on her website.
The entire range is a fraction of the cost of her main line collection, where prices start at £595 for a skirt.
And it also includes a plus size collection, with the same styles as the main collection, only cut accordingly.
The Target collection is more comparable to her more affordable Victoria Victoria Beckham collection, and the scallop edges that feature throughout the range were have been a big feature in her designs in the past.
Victoria told Look magazine, “I want to design for women no matter their budget, age or size. I want to empower women and girls, and make them feel like the best versions of themselves. The fact that I can offer plus size too is really exciting.”
So who is it aimed at? Well, anyone that loves Victoria’s style for starters, you can actually imagine VB stepping out in these looks. The range includes wide leg trousers, elegant tailored tops, dresses, rompers and fun separates with bold floral patterns and scallop edges. There are also ridiculously cute matching styles for girls, toddler and baby.
Something tells us that is going to cause a shopping frenzy.
