Nollywood actress’, Ruth Kadiri and Somkele Iyamah celebrate their birthdays today.

Ruth Kadiri, born March 24, is a Nollywood actress and a scriptwriter. Kadiri studied Business Administration and Mass Communication at the Yaba College of Technology and University of Lagos (UNILAG) respectively.

In 2013, Ruth Kadiri (AKA Puchu) was endorsed and certified as a great actress by actress Uche Jombo because of her script-writing skills and acting prowess. Asides acting, the actress also dabbles into charity and started a charity foundation called Ruth Kadiri Kids.

Popularly known for her star role in NdaniTV’s critically acclaimed drama series, Gidi Up, Somkele Iyamah has been in the game since 2012.

She banked her first TV role in the series, The Island, directed by Tola Odunsi. Since the early days, she’s worked alongside leading ladies, Rita Dominic and Osas Ighodaro in films, The Rose Garden and Special Situations.

Her love for the acting started after she starred in a school play, an adaptation of The Prodigal Son: The Clown. After graduating with a degree in Biochemistry from McMaster University, Canada, Somkele took a dive into the arts, and hasn’t looked back since.

She also manages the fashion brand, Andrea Iyamah, founded by head designer, Dumebi Iyamah. She’s also actively involved with the Jim Ovia Foundation, working as a coordinator.
