Unless the National Action Plan is implemented in its true spirit, Pakistan will not be able to get rid of the menace of terrorism that has crippled the country. The ongoing Operation Raddul Fasaad alone cannot do much to tackle the situation. The government has to put all points of NAP in action. The first thing to do is to deal with the extremist mindset that has become entrenched in our society.
While the civil and military leadership are on the same page regarding the absolute necessity of implementing NAP they must double their efforts. Anti-terrorism laws need to be strengthened, seminaries must be categorised and all extremist propaganda shut down. We can no longer tolerate those factions that spread hate and violence in the name of religion. Let us endeavour to bring about lasting change as that is the only way forward.
