NEW DELHI: As if its showing in Punjab and Goa wasn't bad enough, AAP today conceded defeat in Delhi's Rajouri Garden bypoll as it was trailing a miserable third there behind the BJP-Akali (SAD) combine which is way ahead.
This defeat comes close to the upcoming Delhi civic polls, which Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia said the party is confident of winning despite its pathetic showing in Rajouri Garden.

After the eighth round of counting for the Rajouri Garden bypoll, the BJP + SAD was leading with 19,557 votes, the Congress was at number two with 15,972 votes and AAP was at 3,848 votes.
The BJP candidate here is Manjinder Singh Sirsa, his Congress rival is Meenakshi Chandela and AAP's candidate is Harjeet Singh.
According to the election office, counting began at 8 AM. Around 47 per cent of the west Delhi seat's over 1.6 lakh electors had cast their vote on April 9.
The seat fell vacant early this year after AAP's Jarnail Singh quit as MLA to contest the Punjab Assembly poll against SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal.
For the BJP and the Congress, success in the by-election is crucial for their continuing relevance in the city's politics, while for AAP it will be a test of its popularity.
