North Charleston firefighters responded to a commercial building for reports of a fire Saturday.

The building, which used to be a Taco Bell but is now abandoned, had smoke pouring from the roof.

Dispatch officials confirmed officers had to direct traffic as the 3700 block of Rivers Avenue was shut down.

NCFD officials said firefighters went into the building but deemed it unsafe so they fought the fire from the outside. It's a good thing they did because eventually the roof collapsed.

Units from the City of Charleston, and St. Andrews Fire Department also responded. No injuries were reported.
