BAHRAIN: Pakistan Ambassador Javed Malik met with the deputy prime minister of Bahrain, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa at the Prime Minister’s Al Ghudibiya Palace, foreign media has reported.
Malik highlighted various efforts to expand business, trade and commercial ties between Pakistan and Bahrain and briefed the deputy prime minister on the recently held Pakistan Bahrain Business Opportunities Conference in Islamabad in which 100 delegates from Bahrain and other Gulf countries traveled to Pakistan led by the Minister of Commerce and Industry Zayed AlZayani and the chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khalid Al Moayyed.
While appreciating the efforts of the ambassador, Shaikh Khalid paid tribute to historic ties between Pakistan and Bahrain and said Bahrain values ties with Pakistan and is keen to upgrade it.
Speaking to the media after his meeting, Javed said Pakistan believes in maintaining its tries with Bahrain and all GCC countries under guidance of leadership of both countries. He said for current year, Bahrain holds Presidency of the GCC and we are in discussions with GCC leadership to explore possibility of entering a Free Trade Agreement.
