Spectacular program of vocal and instrumental music

DEERFIELD TWP -- The current recital series at Deerfield Presbyterian Church, 530 Old Deerfield Pike, will conclude on Sunday, May 7 at 4 p.m. with a spectacular program of vocal and instrumental music.  Enrique Reynosa, violin, with Anna Nizhegorodtseva, piano, will make their first appearance in this area. Tenor Michael Gallant has previously appeared at Deerfield as soloist with the church choir.  Evelyn R. Larter will accompany him on the piano. This recital will bring the series to an outstanding conclusion.

Enrique Reynosa, a native of Monterrey, Mexico completed his Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia, and a Master's Degree and an Artist Certificate in Violin Performance at Azusa Pacific University in California. Currently he is enrolled in the Doctorate in Musical Arts program at The Catholic University of America under the direction of maestro Jose Cueto.  He was awarded First Place for the State of Virginia in the MTNA Chamber Music Competition of 2004 as the leader of the Vitali String Quartet, and the third Place at the 2015 Euterpe International Music Competition in Corato, Italy with the International DC Trio. In September 2015 he was honored to be the concertmaster for the Catholic University Symphony Orchestra which performed for the Pope Francis during the papal mass in Washington D.C.

Russian born pianist Anna Nizhegorodtseva holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Nizhny Novgorod College of Music and Nizhniy Novgorod Glinka State Conservatory respectively. Some of the awards in piano and chamber music competitions include the first prize in the International Piano Competition of Kiev, Ukraine (2005), second prize in Moscow Chamber Music Competition (2009),  first place in MTAC, Los Angeles (2010). In 2010 Anna obtained second place in the Los Angeles Liszt International Piano Competition. Anna was also the winner of the International Euterpe music competition in Corato, Italy in May 2015. Currently Anna is a Doctoral in Musical Arts candidate at The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.. She frequently performs as a soloist and collaborative pianist in United States, Europe and Latin America.

Evelyn R. Larter is the director of Music at Deerfield Presbyterian Church. She is an honors graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music in concert piano and composition, and has collaborated with many internationally known musicians. She is a Colleague of The American Guild of Organists, and twice served as Dean of the SouthWest Jersey Chapter.

The program at Deerfield will include operatic arias, Broadway favorites and spirituals. The recital will be followed by a "Meet the Artists" reception.
