600 Anganwadis to be built in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram

VIZIANAGARAM: Mines minister RV Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao on Sunday said that the government was taking all measures to improve the rural areas of the state.

Participating in a development programmes here, the minister said the government is giving priority to rural development by providing infrastructure. As a part of this mission, sufficient funds are being allocated for CC roads, housing projects, anganwadi buildings and others development projects.

By providing nutritious food through anganwadis, the government is taking care of young mothers and infants. All villagers should utilise these facilities, he said.

The minister visited Narsipuram of Parvathipuram Rural mandal in Vizianagaram district on Sunday and inaugurated an   Anganwadi centre built with Rs 7 lakh.

He appreciated the NREGS and child development project officials for the good decoration of the centre. “The government will construct  600 Anganwadi centres across the district and so far 118 of them have been completed,” he explained.

Village president K Lakshmi, MPP Haripriya Thatraj, ZPTC G Gowriswari, women and child welfare project officer Vijaya Gowri and others were present.
