2 Jogeshwari men drown in Ratnagiri river

Navi Mumbai: Two Mumbai youths drowned in a river in Ratnagiri while bathing in it earlier this week during a break from their wedding photography assignment.
The deceased were identified as Bantu Zala (19) and Mukesh Makwana (21) from Janata Colony in Jogeswari (E).
Two other youths with them were rescued from the river, Muchkundi, in Kurle village of Lanja taluka. The survivors were Randhir Ray (19), also from Jogeshwari, and Alpesh Parmar (21) from Bhayandar.
They said none of them could swim.
Havaldar S S Talekar said the four youths arrived on Sunday. “Three of them went deep into the river. An auto driver and a youth rushed to help, but two died,” he said.
