Four policemen injured in attack while trying to destroy illegal liquor den in Bihar

Some local people having patronage of liquor mafia attacked the police team with bricks, stones in which four policemen including the SHO were injured.

SHEIKPURA: Four policemen including a Station House Officer were injured when a mob attacked a police team that had gone to Chandi village in Bihar's Sheikhpura district to destroy an illegal liquor den.   

Sheikhpura, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amit Sharan said the incident occurred at Chandi village under Kasaar police station of the district last night when a police team headed by Kasaar police station, SHO Ravindra Mahto had gone to destroy an illegal liquor den in the village after getting a tip off in this regard.     

Some local people having patronage of liquor mafia attacked the police team with bricks, stones in which four policemen including the SHO were injured, Sharan said adding that the injured SHO, who suffered head injuries, has been admitted to Sadar hospital while the other three policemen were admitted to Ariari Primary Health Centre.
