Techical glitches disrupt power supply in APEPDCL limits

Chief general manager (O&CS) PVV Satyanarayana said that due to a technical snag in APTRANSCO/ sub-station, power supply was interrupted in some places of APEPDCL jurisdiction.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief general manager (O&CS) PVV Satyanarayana said that due to a technical snag in APTRANSCO/ sub-station, power supply was interrupted in some places of APEPDCL jurisdiction. 


In a release, Satyanarayana said that on Thursday at 10.50 am, power was interrupted as 220 kv Ganagvaram conductor line was cut off from 220 kv Visakhapatnam switching station and also some technical problem arose between 220 kv upper Sileru and 220 kv Pendurthi line.

APTRANSCO authorities are continuously working at the spot for quick restoration of power supply, he said.


“Due to deficit in power supply by the APTRANSCO in the jurisdiction of the APEPDCL  and to save the grid Emergency Load Relief (ELR) was declared at 220 kv feeders at Garividi and Tekkali and at 130 kv Anandapuram, 132 kv Kasimkota, 132 kv Simahaachalam, 132 kv Nakkavanipalem feeders,” he said.

The authorities of APTRANSCO are engaged in restoration of the power supply in the APEPDCL jurisdiction on a war footing, said Sathyanarayana in a release.

Power interruption to pumpsets
Due to the power interruption, there would be slight changes in the time of power supply to agricultural pumpsets in APEPDCL jurisdiction for one week:
From 9 am to 4 pm for agricultural pump sets in Srkakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam circles.
From 5 am to 9 am for Group-A agricultural pumpsets in Rajahmundry circle and also from 11 pm to 2 am for Group-A agricultural pumpsets in Rajahmundry circle 
From 4 am to 8 am for Group-A agricultural pumpsets in Eluru circle and also from 10 pm to 1 am 
From 3 pm to 7 pm for Group-B agricultural pumpsets in Rajahmundry circle and also from 2 am to 5 am 
From 8 am to 12 noon for Group-B agricultural pumpsets in Eluru circle and also from 1 am to 4 am
