Fire breaks out in slums, spreads to Aravalli's forest in Gurugram
GURUGRAM: A massive fire broke out at Arravalli's forest area on Friday evening. Smoke spread over one kilometre the area surrounding DLF Phase I and Sikanderpur billowed following the accident.
An eyewitness told TOI that fire started at around 6pm in the slums that had encroached the area behind the marble market near Guru Dronacharya metro station. Initially, the slum-dwellers tried to put out the flame by themselves, but it soon spread to the green cover.

The fire brigade was informed about the fire around 6:51pm, and immediately over half a dozen fire tenders were rushed to the location.
Notably, the illegal slums had encroached the part of the forest land and the fire officers are apprehensive that the fire might spread further in the forest.
