Drew Rasmussen, Jack Anderson help Beavers blast Abilene Christian 11-0

From Oregon State University Athletic Department:

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Drew Rasmussen struck out eight in six scoreless innings and Jack Anderson drove in three to pace top-ranked Oregon State in an 11-0 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

The game lasted seven innings due to a 10-run rule that the teams agreed to prior to the start of the series. It came into play after consecutive five-run innings for the Beavers in the fifth and sixth.

Anderson drove in three on the strength of a 1-for-4 day, while Cadyn Grenier and Elliott Cary each drove in two. Andy Armstrong paced Oregon State with two hits as the Beavers collected eight overall off four Abilene Christian pitchers.

Rasmussen, meanwhile, earned his third win of the season thanks to six scoreless, scattering just two hits over 84 pitches. Jake Mulholland got the final three outs of the afternoon in the seventh, helping push the Beavers to their 13th shutout of the season.

The win pushed the Beavers to 48-4 on the year - the first team to 48. The win marked Oregon State's 15th straight.

David Ruot was charged with the loss, dropping to 0-5. He allowed four hits and six runs in 3 1/3 relief innings.

Abilene Christian fell to 13-42 on the year.

Another 3K-Plus
Oregon State saw 3,563 fans at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field Friday. Oregon State has now had 16 crowds of 3,000 or more this season. The Beavers have totaled 79,634 fans through 25 home dates this season - 26 games, with one counting as a single-ticket doubleheader. That is an average of 3,185 per home date.

A Record On Sunday?
With an attendance of 3,352 or more on Sunday, the Beavers would total 82,986 through the gates at Goss Stadium overall this season. That would surpass the current record of 82,985 set during the 2013 season. Oregon State averaged 2,676 fans per game that year.

On 48 Wins
Oregon State surpassed Louisville and Southern Miss with the most wins in the nation with the 48th victory of the year on Saturday. Louisville and St. Johns have both lost during their conference tournaments, both posting their 10th loss of the year. That leaves the Beavers as the only team nationally with single-digit losses.

15 Straight
The win sent the Beavers to 15 consecutive victories, a streak that started in April 30. A win Sunday would give OSU its second perfect month of the year, at 15-0 in May. The Beavers also finished the month of March at 15-0.

Yes, That was Max
It was senior day for Max Engelbrekt on Saturday. And the Seattle native had a chance for something unique late in the game. He came on as a pinch hitter in the sixth and drove a 1-1 pitch to left field. It was, however, snagged by left fielder Anthony Dominguez for a shoestring catch.
