PATNA: A 26-year-old Bhojpur girl, Chandra Prabha, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at a private girls’ hostel at
Makhaniya Kuan under Pirbahore police station here on Friday.
SHO of Pirbahore police station Mohammad Kaisar Alam said a three-page suicide letter was recovered from the room. “Initial investigations suggest that the girl took the extreme step after she failed to clear a competitive examination for lower division clerk position,” the SHO said, adding the girl, a native of
Vishnu Nagar in Bhojpur district, had a telephonic conversation with her brother in the morning.
“When her brother suggested her to return home, the girl told him that she would prefer to leave the world. Her brother rushed to the hostel from Bhojpur and found her hanging from a ceiling fan,” said the SHO. Vijay’s Kumar, the girl’s father, is a farmer. Her body was handed over to family members after post mortem.
In another incident, one Vishwanath Kumar (24), a resident of Aurangabad, committed suicide inside his rented room at a private lodge in
Saidpur under Kadamkuan police station in Patna. SHO Ghulam Sarvar said Kumar was last seen on Thursday night.
