SHO of Sadar police station Awadesh Kumar said police arrested Sanjay Kumar and Mukesh Kumar from two different locations with IMFL bottles.
Later, two of their associates – Munna Sah and Bablu Kumar – were also arrested. “The arrested persons named one Prakash Sah as the main stockist of IMFL,” Kumar said, adding Prakash was arrested later in the day from his house at Pologram under Sadar police station. Four IMFL bottles were recovered from Prakash’s residence.
Based on information provided by Prakash, police raided villages adjoining West Bengal border and arrested three more liquor smugglers – Jyotish Kumar, Mohammad Kaisar and Jayant Kumar. The kingpin of the gang, Deva Singh, was arrested from Gunda Chowk under Sadar police station.
