Two Fatehpur girls emerge winners in UP Board exams

LUCKNOW: Fatehpur girls Tejaswi Devi and Priyanshi Tiwari topped Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board class X and XII examinations by securing 95.83% and 96.20% respectively.
The results were declared by Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board on Friday . In class X, four students, Kshitij Singh and Navneet Kumar Diwakar from Hardoi and Pragati Singh and Amina Khatoon from Barabanki, jointly shared the second position by scoring 95.33% each.
In class XII, three students, Bhavna from Kanpur Dehat, Sonam Singh and Vijay Laxmi Singh of Fatehpur, secured second rank by getting 95.80%.

Declaring class X results, Board director Amarnath Verma said, “Tejaswi Devi from Fatehpur topped by bagging 95.83% marks. Four students shared the second spot. The third position was shared by Ravi Patel of Hardoi and Priyanshu Verma of Barabanki by bagging 95.17% marks.“
At least 26,54,492 students, including 1.79 lakh private examinees, had registered for class XII exams. Of this, 20,83,724 were declared successful. The 11.82 lakh girl examinees proved their mettle again by securing an overall pass percentage of 88.80%. It is 11.64% higher than boys.
Likewise, girls outshone boys in class X too, with 86.50% of the total number of 13.64 lakh girl students having clearing the exam. The pass percentage of boys in class X remained at 76.75%. A total of 16.34 lakh boys were declared successful. The high school and intermediate examinations started simultaneously on March 16. The class X examinations were completed on April 1 while class XII examination ended on April 21.
Class X examinations were conducted at 11,414 examination centres and class XII at 10,868 centres. The evaluation of answer copies took place from April 27 to May 11 at 253 centres by 1,36,519 evaluators across the state.
