Steps have been taken to make the district police more citizen-friendly through various social networking sites and web portals to hear and address public grievances.
Newly appointed Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Jain, who has taken up this initiative, has said that since majority of the population uses smartphones, the device can easily be used to address grievances. “From urban to rural, these days almost everyone is connected to one or the other social networking site using smartphones. This device can become an easy and simple medium to bridge the gap between the people and police. We can address several issues without making people visit police stations,” he said. He said that the initiative will not only save time and increase efficiency of services, but also win people’s confidence. Mentioning various sites which can be useful for the people to interact with the police, he said that a web portal “Citizen Centric Portal” can be used by the people in Google. Or they could directly log into https://policeseva.ksp.gov.in/ccp/login.aspx for registering any complaint and give suggestions to the police.Users have to first register themselves in the website, where they could file complaint. The details would automatically get forwarded to the respective police stations in the State.
