PATNA: The government rail police (GRP) recovered one dead body and two youths lying injured on railway tracks near each other around 35 kilometres east of Kishanganj railway station in Kishanganj district on Tuesday.
Kishanganj GRP SHO Mohammad Muzammil said that after preliminary police investigation, it surfaced that all three were brothers who were going to Guwahati in Assam from Bengaluru.
He said that it is yet not clear if they were thrown out of moving train during a loot attempt or fell by accident.
He said that all three were lying at a distance of few meters apart on the tracks who were spotted by three patrolling men at around 5am.
"One of the injured youth gave a cellphone number to patrolling men. Police later contacted on the number and came to know about the initial details," he said adding that the relatives of the youths said that one of the youth was Anil while other was Panchanand.
He said that due to poor network, the call was dropped but the relatives said that they would reach Kishanganj by Wednesday morning.
He said that there were visible grievous injury marks on head of the deceased whose body was sent to Kishanganj sadar hospital for postmortem.
He said that rest two were sent to North Bengal Medical College at Silliguri in West Bengal. "Their situation was critical and statement was yet to be recorded only after which police would be able to say anything," he added. Two cellphones, purse and luggage were also recovered at the spot. However, he said that nothing was recovered from the possesions of the deceased.
