BSF chopper makes emergency landing on road at Koraput

A BSF chopper made an emergency landing on a village road in Odisha's Koraput district on Tuesday afternoon due to inclement weather. Police said the helicopter was on its way to the BSF’s headquarters but the pilot was forced to land the helicopter on Mahadeiput-Lula road.

KORAPUT: A chopper belonging to the Border Security Force (BSF) made an emergency landing at a village road in Koraput district on Tuesday afternoon due to inclement weather.
Police said the helicopter was on its way from Bhubaneswar to the BSF’s headquarters situated at the outskirts of Koraput town.
However, the pilot was forced to land the helicopter on Mahadeiput-Lula road, situated at a distance of about 20 km from the BSF headquarters, under Koraput sadar police limits at 2.30 pm.

“As the weather was not conducive the pilot grounded the chopper at a road near Phulbeda chowk. The chopper landed safely and remained at the spot for nearly two hours due to the bad weather. Later, it took-off,” said SP (Koraput) Kanwar Vishal Singh.
