SOUND TO SEA SUMMER CAMP Monday-Friday, July 24-28, July 31-Aug. 4 and Aug. 7-11. Trinity Center’s Sound to Sea program offers full-week summer day camp to rising first through sixth graders. Each session allows kids the opportunity to learn about the habitats on the 62-acre property. They will explore the maritime forest, freshwater pond, sound and salt marsh using games, crafts and activities. The day ends with some relaxation time at the beach or the pool. ST. BEGINNER TENNIS CAMP 9-10 a.m. Monday-Wednesday, July 31-Aug. 2, at Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department, 1600 Fisher St. The camp for ages 5-9 will offer an exciting tennis experience with an emphasis on fun, skill development, tactics and competition. Concentration will be placed on establishing basic skills through staff demonstration and instruction. The camp will emphasize technique tactics in an intense training environment. SUMMER SCIENCE SCHOOL: SCIENCE OF SURFBOARDS 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday-Wednesday, Aug. 1-2, at the N.C. Maritime Museum in Beaufort. Students will use museum exhibits and field trips to learn how surfboards have evolved down through the years, from heavy wooden boards weighing in excess of 150 pounds to today’s state of the art boards made of modern polymers weighing less than 10 pounds.
