Harvard expert team will visit Uddanam, say Jana Sena leaders

A team of medical experts from Harvard University is likely to visit the Uddanam region and interact with victims of chronic kidney diseases (CKD) on July 29.

SRIKAKULAM: A team of medical experts from Harvard University is likely to visit the Uddanam region and interact with victims of chronic kidney diseases (CKD) on July 29. According to Jana Sena activists, their party chief Pawan Kalyan will hold a meeting with medical experts in Visakhapatnam, prior to his meeting with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to discuss CKDs.

According to Jana Sena activists, a team of medical experts will visit Uddanam on July 29 and will try to find out the cause of renal ailments that has haunted the region for several decades.
“The Harvard team agreed to extended its support to conduct a research on the renal ailments in Andhra Pradesh after Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan briefed them about the issue,” the party activists said.

After visiting Uddanam, the expert team will have a meeting with Pawan in Visakhapatnam on July 30. Pawan, would meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to submit their findings later. “We have not received any officials information about the expert team’s tour.” said district medical and health officer S Tirupathi Rao.

Pawan Kalyan visited Uddanam on January 4, demanding medical and financial support to victims of kidney ailments. Then the government had planned to set up water plants in Uddanam at a cost of `17 crore, besides setting up dialysis centres at Palsa, Palakonda, and Sompeta.
