PATNA: Police on Sunday arrested Sandeep Kumar (19), the tuition teacher of 11-year-old boy Vishnu Rajkumar alias Rahul Kumar whose body was recovered from a roadside ditch near Amlori village under Mufassil police station in Siwan on Friday.
Seven of Sandeep’s associates – Dhananjay Kumar alias Bhajju (25), Rajkishore Singh alias Singhania (28), Prabhunath Sahni (55), Asif Ansari (28), Basanti Devi (27), Abdullah Ansari (56) and Vikash Kumar (27) – have also been arrested.

Vishnu, son of garment trader Rajkumar Gupta and a Class VI student of Don Bosco Academy, Siwan, had been kidnapped on August 9 and his body was recovered on Friday. The kidnappers had sought Rs 30 lakh ransom for his safe release. Police said it was Vishnu’s tuition teacher Sandeep who had masterminded the kidnap and subsequent murder of the boy.
Police have launched a manhunt to arrest five other suspects in the case – Azad Ansari (28), Bharat Prasad (29), Lalbabu Mallah (26), Deepu Kumar (27) and Arvind Singh (34).
SHO of Town police station, Siwan, Subodh Kumar said after giving tuition to Vishnu on August 9, Sandeep, who also owns a cosmetic shop, took him to a secluded place instead of his father’s shop from where Bharat and Azad kidnapped him.
The SHO said the boy was kept at the residence of Rajkishore at Mirganj in Gopalganj district before he was murdered by the criminals.
