NELLORE: Both YSR Congress (YSRC) MLAs Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and P Anil Kumar Yadav, representing Nellore Urban and Rural assembly constituencies, who had been quizzed by the district police with regard to cricket betting, have hit out at the authorities for targeting the YSRC camp while sparing TDP legislators. “Five cricket bookies involved in betting belong to the TDP. They are aides of TDP MLAs. So, why did the district police serve notices to only two YSRC MLAs? The State government has targeted leaders from the opposition owing to political rivalries,” Yadav alleged.

Speaking to mediapersons after coming out of the district police headquarters, Reddy said that he was questioned about his contact with cricket bookie Krishna Singh.“They thought I was either in contact with Krishna Singh or had a financial dealing with him. They wanted to know my relationship with Leburi Sridhar Reddy (LSR),”  he said.He also said that police questioned him about the expenses of the camp in Goa during the mayor’s elections in 2014.

They asked whether the camp expenses had anything to do with Krishna Singh and were told that it was Abdul Aziz, an industrialist, who had taken care of expenses at the Goa camp during mayor elections.
“The police read out a list of politicians and asked me to explain who visited the office of Leburi Sridhar Reddy. I told them that only some of the politicians including former legislators Anam Vivekananda Reddy, Mungamuru Sridhar Krishna Reddy visited Leburi Sridhar Reddy rarely. NUDA chairman Kotamreddy Sreenivasulu Reddy, Library chairman K.Venkata Swamy Naidu, Vijaya Dairy chairman K. Ranga Reddy, and YV Ramireddy would regularly visits LSR office,” he said.
