GUNTUR: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu said here that a felicitation ceremony will give inspiration to others so that youth politicians are inspired by the experiences of their older counterparts and adopt policies for the development of their constituency. Venkaiah Naidu visited Tenali of Guntur district.

This is the first time he visited Guntur after assuming charge as V-P. The Vice-President visited the Tenali Municipality for conducting public facilitation at Chavas Grand Kalyanna Mandapam on Saturday. Naidu unveiled the statue of Alapati Venkataramaiah on the occasion of the centenary celebrations at the venue. He recalled Alapati Venkatramaiah’s vision and his activities during the freedom struggle and said his life was an inspiration for future generations.

He urged the youth to read the biography of Alapati Venkatramaiah. Alapati was elected four times as MLA from Tenali. The programme was organised by former MLA Dr Gogineni Uma and the book was written by Dr Ch Baba Vali Rao. The Vice-President released the book on this occasion. 
AP Assembly speaker K Siva Prasad Rao, Social Welfare minister N Anand Babu, MP Galla Jayadev, MLAs Alapati Rajendra Prasad and D Narendra were present on the occasion.
