NOIDA: A day after TOI reported that some schools decided to remain closed on Saturday citing the Section 144 of the CrPC imposed in the district, the district magistrate has clarified that keeping in view the prevailing situation, there is no need to close schools and the same will remain open from Monday.
“In view of the present situation, there is no need to shut schools in Gautam Budh Nagar.
Hence, no order has been issued to close schools by the district administration. The educational institutes will remain open as usual. The situation in the district is normal,” an official statement issued by the DM said.
Official sources said that some schools which had decided to remain closed for teachers on Saturdays and cancelled the scheduled PTMs were doing it out of an extra-cautious approach and the same was not required.
However, despite the clarification issued by the DM, Amity School, Sector 44 will remain closed, a spokesperson for the Amity group said.
“All our schools and the Amity University will remain closed on Monday owing to the Section 144 (unlawful assembly) imposed in the district,"the spokesperson said.
Lotus Valley International, Sector 126 also sent messages to parents that the school will remain closed on Monday.
DPS, Sector 30, Noida tweaked its timings in view of the "current situation", which the authorities already declared as normal.
