College boy shot in Buxar
BUXAR: Two bike-borne criminals shot dead one Gopal Dubey (22) near Baba Nagar under the Town police station area in Buxar on Saturday morning.
Police sources said Dubey, who was a student of a local college, was shot twice in his chest. He was rushed to the sadar hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Furious over the incident, an irate mob blocked the National Highway 84 for several hours in protest against the killing and forced local traders to down the shutters of all nearby shops in the Baba Nagar area.
The blockade was lifted only after the intervention of Buxar SP Rakesh Kumar, who assured the protesters that the suspects involved in the killing would be arrested soon.
The SP said the victim was on a morning walk when he was shot. Police have identified the assailants, he said and added that the reason behind the murder was yet to be ascertained.
In another incident, one Ramayan Mushar was stabbed to death at Baradhi under the Bagen police station area of the district on Saturday. Irate villagers blocked the Bagen-Raghunathpur road for several hours demanding arrest of the killers.
