SIT formed to probe Kaimur honour killing
SASARAM: Kaimur SP Harpreet Kaur on Sunday constituted a SIT to probe the case of honour killing of an extremely backward class (EBC) couple Kamal Chaudhary and Moti Devi on Friday night. The couple was killed after their son Dharmendra Chaudhary eloped with the daughter one Arvind Singh of Mubarakpur village last month, who belonged to an upper caste.
The SP also decided to provide security to the newly-married couple.

On Friday, family members of the girl killed Dharmendra’s parents and injured his two sisters who are now admitted to the trauma centre of Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
The SP told TOI on Sunday that the SIT formed under Mohania DSP Manoj Ram will investigate the case and also ensure early arrest of the suspects including the brothers of the girl.
The DSP said that after the killing, the married couple was in constant touch with the local police. “We will provide security to them and ensure that they are not harmed by the girl’s family members,” he added.
The police official also said that preliminary investigation revealed involvement of the girl’s father Arvind Singh. “We have come to know that the girl’s father, who is in police custody is also involved in the double murder case. He intentionally approached the police after the murder and got himself arrested in an inebriated condition,” said the DSP.
