AGRA: In a horrific incident, a heavily inebriated man on Monday evening shot dead two kids and gravely injured one, after he asked for water from the children playing outside their home in
Etah.
The incident took place 140 km away from Agra city, in Devtariya village which falls under
Jasrathpur police jurisdiction area at around 5 pm.
The victims were identified as Shaan Mohammad (3), Gulfasha (6), who died on the spot, while Soni (4) was taken to government hospital of Etah.
All the three children belong to Mohammad Idris.
Speaking to TOI, Superintendent of police (crime) Etah, O P Singh said, "The accused Chote Singh Yadav, who is a security guard in New Delhi, fired several shots at kids with his licensed gun, when the children refused to give him water."
"The guard was heavily inebriated and had come to village on leave. The accused has been arrested and the weapons have been seized," he said.
According to local villagers, the drunk guard was carrying a loaded weapon. He was on his way to him, when he for a moment stopped at Mohammad Idris' home and sat on a cot, asking the children to give him water. Since he was heavily drunk, the children who were playing outside their home, didn’t pay any heed and smiled at him. This infuriated Yadav who fired at them.
After the incident, the local nabbed the accused and called police.
The incident has triggered tension in the village. Heavy police force rushed to the village.
