Etawah doctor kidnapped, Rs 55 lakh demanded as ransom

ETAWAH (UP): Unidentified people allegedly kidnapped a doctor and demanded a ransom of Rs 55 lakh from his family, police said on Friday.

Unidentified people allegedly kidnapped a doctor and demanded a ransom of Rs 55 lakh from his family, police said on Friday.

Dr Gyan Prakash Pandey, a resident of New Friends Colony here, had left for his clinic in Mainpuri on Thursday on a bus but did not return, after which his family started looking for him, said Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jitendra Srivastava.

Late in the evening, someone called the doctor’s wife and demanded the money for his release, the ASP said.

An FIR has been registered against unidentified people. PTI
