VARANASI: A minor girl was brutally gang raped by some unidentified persons in Ballua area of Chandauli district on Sunday. The girl gained her consciousness on Monday morning at the hospital. The police registered an FIR against three unidentified persons with IPC charges of rape, kidnapping and attempt to murder, and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to reports, the 16-year-old girl, a class- 10 student, had gone to nearby field to collect fodder for the cattle.
Three persons, who had covered their faces with scarfs, overpowered her and raped her. The girl could not bear this trauma, and lost her consciousness.
When she did not return till late evening the family members started searching her, and found her in pathetic condition and unconscious state in the field. They took her to a private hospital, where she regained her consciousness in the morning.
The Ballua SO Awdhesh Kumar Singh told TOI over phone that FIR has been registered against sections 363, 307, 376b of IPC and ¾ POCSO Act. The medical examination of the girl is being conducted. The police are trying to identify the accused and nab them.
