Shifting of 8 patwar circles from Nurpur to Fatehpur notified

NURPUR: Finally, the state government has notified shifting of eight patwar circles from the Nurpur revenue tehsil to Fatehpur tehsil. The Deputy Commissioner Kangra has issued orders of shifting these patwar circles recently in continuance with the implementation of government notification issued on August 19.

Finally, the state government has notified shifting of eight patwar circles from the Nurpur revenue tehsil to Fatehpur tehsil. The Deputy Commissioner Kangra has issued orders of shifting these patwar circles recently in continuance with the implementation of government notification issued on August 19.

As per information, Gurial, Larth, Bari, Golwan, Chhatar, Rehan, Jadolli and Talara patwar circle had been functioning in the Nurpur revenue tehsil after Fatehpur Sub-division was carved out in April last year.

Intriguingly, 13 gram panchayats of these patwar circles of Nurpur had been shifted in Fatehpur Sub-division but their patwar circles remained attached with Nurpur causing a lot of hardship to the people of the area.

The affected people were facing hardship in carrying out revenue-related tehsil-level works as they had to travel more than 25 kilometers to the Nurpur tehsil headquarters whereas they were supposed to travel merely 10 kilometers to approach the Fatehpur revenue tehsil. The people of these panchayats had to visit the sub-divisional headquarters at Fatehpur for administrative work and travel to Nurpur for their tehsil-level revenue work. The elected representatives of these panchayats had been demanding issuance of government notification for shifting of left out patwar circles to Fatehpur tehsil.

Meanwhile, Shashi Sharma, SDM, Fatehpur, told The Tribune today that he had received the order of the DC, Kangra, about shifting of eight patwar circles from Nurpur to the Fatehpur revenue tehsil and the people now could undertake their revenue-related work to Fatehpur from today onwards.

He said the revenue-related online data was also being transferred from Nurpur to Fatehpur and people would get facility of online revenue record and entry shortly.
