Treasure Coast Newspapers Editorial Board
In the soaked ground in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, mosquito larvae are hatching and taking flight across the Treasure Coast.

It might be the only tangible benefit of a hurricane: The mosquitoes get blown away.

In the hours and days immediately after Hurricane Irma, you probably didn't even notice their absence. You were too busy trudging through flood waters, removing debris or wondering when your power would be restored.

They're back.

Consequently, mosquito spraying has resumed in each county in our region.

Boy, we sure could use another hurricane. Not!
