VIJAYAWADA: Non-bailable warrant was issued against Sakshi daily chairperson and managing director Y S Bharathi Reddy, wife of YSRC party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, and editorial director Ramachandra Murthy on wedneday for allegedly publishing false news. According to sources from Nuzvid second additional judicial first class magistrate court, the complainant, Chalasani Anjaneyulu, president of the Krishna District Telugu Rythu Association, filed a defamation case against Sakshi daily for publishing news that he was involved in ‘Call Money - Sex Scandal’ in 2016.
He raised serious objections against the news published and also approached the daily for clarification. After no response from the paper, he filed a defamation complaint in Nuzvid court. Though the first class magistrate court served several notices to attend before the court, the accused failed to attend and also could not get any response from their lawyer. “The order follows the failure of Bharathi Reddy and Ramachandra Murthy to appear before the magistrate yet again. They failed to appear despite summons and a bailable warrant. Hence, the court issued non bailable warrant,” said an official.
