CM has no trust in us, says BJP MLA of UP's Ballia district

CM Yogi Adityanath has no trust in us: Surendra Singh, BJP MLA

VARANASI: Putting a question mark over chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s efficiency and leadership, an MLA of his own party from Bairia in Ballia district, Surendra Singh, said that CM didn’t initiate any action against the corrupt officials despite being informed by all MLAs and MP of Ballia.
The MLA along with his supporters has been sitting on dharna before the forest office in Bairia since Friday demanding action against corrupt officials.

“Without any hesitation, I can say that the CM has whatever ‘jalwa’ in the state and control over government machinery, but he has no control over corruption in Ballia,” he said, “All MLAs and MP met the CM and complained against corrupt officials, but it is very sad that no action was initiated in this regard. It clearly means that the CM has no trust on us. “Even after losing the trust of ‘satta’ (power), I will not ditch the trust of people in my constituency. If it becomes necessary, I will sit on dharna and go on fast without thinking about my political future,” he said.
When asked why he opened front against the government of his own party, he said, “The government has changed, but not the character of government officials. I will not speak about whole UP, but I assure that I will compel them to change their character in Ballia”. When pointed out that the CM wants the ill and corrupt practices to be brought to his notice directly, he said, “There is difference between what the CM says and what is the outcome of our efforts”. He also admitted that corrupt practices like illegal ‘vasuli’ (extraction of money) are prevalent in BJP rule. “I do admit it is sad that corruption still prevails,” he added.
“When a check post of forest department already exists in Majhi, what is the purpose of creating another check post in Bairia,” he wondered alleging that a racket is being run by the police, revenue, mining and forest departments in connivance with mafia to mint money. When the sand loaded trucks from Bihar are checked at Majhi check post there is no need of collecting tax in Ballia, he said adding that the corrupt practices are not only causing revenue loss to government but also destroying social setup. He said that he had already provided the list of corrupt officials to the district magistrate, mining officer, CO, SO and also the state BJP president.
