VIZIANAGARAM: YSRC coordinator for the Vizianagaram Assembly constituency and MLC Kolagatla Veerabadra Swamy on Sunday tendered his resignation to the post on Sunday, citing internal differences with some leaders as the reason.

He submitted the resignation letter to party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. However, he said that he would continue with the YSRC and his MLC post. Veerabadra Swamy, who switched loyalties to Jagan from the Congress, also held the post of YSRC district chief earlier.

Sources said that the leader had developed some differences with senior YSRC leader Botsa Satyanarayana. “Ever since Botsa joined the YSRC, a cold war was going on between him and Veerabadra Swamy,” sources from the YSRC quarter said.

Veerabadra Swamy also resigned to the Vizianagaram district chief post on December 25 last year but chose to stay with the party.

Further, Majji Srinivasa Rao alias Chinna Sreenu, nephew of Botsa Satyanarayana, was made the party convener for the Vizianagaram Assembly constituency three months ago and the sources said that the move did not go down well with Veerabadra Swamy who was holding the same post.

“I have quit the post of the YSRC coordinator for the Vizianagaram Assembly constituency due to personal reasons and internal differences with a few party leaders. But, I will continue with the YSRC and keep working for it,” Veerabadra Swamy told the media here on Sunday.
