Oprah officially confirms she's not running for President in 2020

WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- At least one celebrity is taking her name out of the running for President of the United States in 2020.

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey told CBS This Morning in an interview on Wednesday that she's not running for office of any kind.

The topic came into question during the show after host Gayle King, who happens to be Winfrey's best friend, asked if she had narrowed down her short list of vice presidential candidates.

"Well you can be safe with that. There will be no running for office of any kind," Winfrey said after she was left speechless by the question.

During an interview in March, Winfrey was asked whether she would consider running for president. The former talk show host's answer caused speculation after the Winfrey didn't outwardly rule it out.

"I never considered the question even a possibility, but then I thought: 'Oh,'" Winfrey said. "Because it's clear you don't need government experience to be elected president of the United States."
