HAMLET — “Acts that don’t seem humanly possible” is how The New York Times describes international circus company Flip FabriQue’s high flying acrobatic show that will be coming to the Cole Auditorium on Monday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m.

“Attrape Moi” (translated “Catch Me”) is a joyful and playful performance among a group of friends from the professional circus circles. These six athletes of international caliber draw from their personal experiences of several hundred performances, including the prestigious Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize.

According to a formal statement from the company, “The production expresses and conveys friendship and the emotions between the two. The public can easily feel the pure emotions, even when the two are projected through vertiginous acrobatics or through the most daring circus performances.”

What also makes this nouveau cirque crew’s show unique is the use of a trampoline wall that takes acrobatic stunts to new heights.

“We’ve never had an acrobatic group or cirque show that showcases the trampoline wall before, so we’re excited to bring this new element to the DeWitt Performing Arts Series that will bring thrills and chills to our audience,” said Cole Auditorium Director Joey Bennett.

Founding member Bruno Gagnon has been following the circus life since he turned 18.

“When I was a little boy, my mother kept telling me, ‘Stop jumping around, stop running all over the place, calm yourself, stay still for two minutes,’” Gagnon said.

He has performed in front of millions of spectators in more than 1,500 shows. However, the circus life kept him away from his home and his friends, which is what led him to forming Flip FabriQue.

“Now on tour with my friends, it always feels like home,” he said about the company.
