THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A class X girl who was
battling for her life in the hospital after she had jumped off the third floor of her school in
Kollam succumbed to injuries here on Monday. Kollam West SI A Nisamudheen said that the girl died between 2.30 and 3 am in the morning.
"The inquest formalities are being completed and further decisions will be made after that," said A Nisamudheen. Kollam West police have already registered case against two teachers; Sindhu and Crescent of Trinity Lyceum school, Kollam on charges of abetment of suicide.
The parents of the girl have alleged that she had been
harassed by the school authorities which led to suicide bid. The relatives have told police that she was reportedly scolded by the teachers for picking up a fight with other class mates.
The girl had jumped off the third floor of the school on Friday. She was shifted to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram where she was admitted with
critical injuries for the last three days. The student is a resident of
Ramankulangara. The police have recorded the statement of girl's father.
